It's about time for the FFN's next evening social – and, like the last outing, upstairs at The Griffin. Even if, not like last time, it's under new-but-familiar management (click here if you're not up to speed).

From 7pm on the 20th, grab a pint and learn about what's happening within the network, meet other local food businesses and organisations, explore ways to collaborate, or simply savour the company of others interested in food and farming.

Capacity is limited to 30 people. So if you'd rather not miss out, book up as soon as you can.

If you'd like to eat while there, food is served (not on the house, I'm afraid) from 5pm 'til 9pm – feel free to come hungry.

Family-friendly BYO picnics and big butterfly counts: The Frome Food Network's next farm tour will be a little bit different to previous outings, with a special invitation from Frome Field 2 Fork for their summer open day.

For the uninitiated, Field 2 Fork is a market garden tended by and for the local community. Even better, it's a short walk (best accessed via Critchill Road or the top of Whitemill Lane-Marston Road tun-off) or an easy cycle from town. Click here for a map.

On the 16th, we'll catch up with what Caroline and the rest of the F2F team are up to, and learn about a big FFN + F2F collaboration in the autumn. The rest mostly speaks for itself, but there'll also be a chance to take part in a 'Growing Strong' session at 11am if you want to. "It's a family-friendly session," says Caroline, "with a focus on physical health and wellbeing, connecting, learning, growing and cooking. We will harvest food from the land and use it to make lunch*."
